The California Department of Technology (CDT) is accepting applications for its Project Management Leadership Academy (PMLA), a program designed for public-sector professionals seeking to develop and enhance their skills.
During the 12-week program, which is mostly remote, participants will also receive classroom instruction and will be paired with an experienced project manager. They will meet weekly during the program to share lessons learned, and the mentor will provide advice and insight as it relates to project management. Students may also shadow the manager during meetings of interest.
The program runs from April 29 through July 18 and is open to public-sector professionals. There are no job classification prerequisites, and those newer to the field of project management, or who have project management experience primarily in the private sector but are less familiar with the state’s project management practices, are ideal candidates.
“It is helpful to possess at least one year of direct or indirect project management experience,” according to CDT’s PMLA website. Applicants must submit authorization from their chief information officer or equivalent program executive as part of their application.
The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Feb. 26. For more details or to apply, visit the PMLA website.
