El Dorado County
Chief Information Officer

El Dorado County is seeking an experienced chief information officer to lead its Information Technologies Department. The incumbent will oversee all aspects of the county’s IT strategy, including enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, data governance, digital services and infrastructure operations. The role is a key leadership position responsible for aligning IT initiatives with countywide goals, fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and driving innovation in public service delivery.

Key responsibilities include developing and executing a comprehensive IT Strategic Plan, leading enterprise technology operations and implementing a unified Enterprise Architecture framework to enhance efficiency and interoperability. Candidates must demonstrate extensive knowledge of IT governance, strategic planning, cybersecurity and public-sector operations. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required (master’s preferred), along with at least seven years of increasingly responsible IT experience — four of which must include executive-level leadership.

Duties include:
  • Develop and articulate a long-term technology vision aligned with county goals.
  • Negotiate and execute SLAs/MOUs with departments while maintaining regulatory compliance and data security.

City of San Jose
AI and Privacy Analyst I/II

The city of San Jose is seeking an AI and privacy analyst to support its growing efforts in ethical and responsible artificial intelligence. This position plays a key role in shaping the city’s AI road map by transforming research into scalable, transparent and citizen-centered technology solutions within the Information Technology Department.

This temporary position, funded through June 30, 2026 (with the possibility of extension), involves bridging academic research and real-world application. Responsibilities include developing machine learning models, embedding outputs into city systems, coordinating with departments and external stakeholders, and crafting governance playbooks to ensure ethical AI practices. The incumbent will also lead training workshops, monitor performance metrics and participate in public outreach to increase understanding and trust in emerging technologies. The role demands both technical expertise and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to varied audiences.

Ideal candidates will possess strong programming and data science skills (particularly in Python, NumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch and statistical modeling) along with at least a bachelor’s degree. Applicants for Analyst II must have two years of relevant analytical or administrative experience.

Placer County Superior Court
Chief Technology Officer

The Placer County Superior Court is seeking a chief technology officer (CTO) to lead its Information Technology Division. The incumbent will shape both short- and long-term IT strategies, oversee the development and maintenance of mission-critical systems, and ensure the smooth operation of both modern and legacy platforms. In addition to overseeing the Placer County Superior Court’s systems, the CTO will support IT functions for five other Northern California courts, serving more than 450 users.

The CTO will manage a dedicated team of nine staff and supervise the court’s enterprisewide technology operations. Responsibilities include staff supervision and mentoring, budget and procurement management, vendor and contract oversight, system security, network administration and business continuity planning. The CTO will also serve as the court’s technology expert and liaison with local, state and national judicial technology groups.

Ideal candidates will have at least seven years of professional, management-level experience in IT, with preference for those with California trial court experience. A bachelor's degree in a related field is required, though advanced degrees or certifications (such as CompTIA, CISSP, CCNA or MCSA) are encouraged and financially supported by the court.

Duties include:
  • Participate in the development of strategic technology-related goals and objectives.
  • Perform demanding technical research and analysis involving complex technology issues.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports and/or project plans.
  • Interpret, apply and explain federal and state laws and rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information, exercise discretion and use independent judgment within the established scope of authority and make sound decisions.
