The Office of Technology and Solutions Integration (OTSI, formerly known as the Office of Systems Integration) is seeking a deputy agency information security officer (IT Manager I) to lead the strategic development and implementation of security initiatives across departments in the California Health and Human Services Agency, OTSI’s parent organization.

The California Department of Technology (CDT) is recruiting for a geospatial engineer (IT Specialist II) to work “at a highly skilled level involving complex technology, a subsystem of business applications or work on integration projects, and typically requires an unusual depth of understanding in a singular technology or a good understanding of multiple technologies.”
The engineer will work on the state’s Middle-Mile Broadband Initiative (MMBI) Data and Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) Services, interacting with other MMBI staff and management, including staff of other agencies and departments. “This senior technical position involves performing advanced IT systems engineering tasks to address security and fraud-related issues,” the job posting says. “Key responsibilities include cybersecurity infrastructure systems architecture; design, development and implementation of complex security systems solutions; configuring and managing Linux security systems; deploying cybersecurity infrastructure; and building security detection, prevention, and response tools such as security information and event management (SIEM) systems.”

- Perform SIEM log source integration and ingestion from critical Linux and Windows systems to ensure full visibility enterprise-wide.

The State Compensation Insurance Fund is seeking a senior Java developer (IT Specialist II) to lead other software engineers to design and implement products; to work closely with management to determine the feasibility of product features; and to become an expert in technical aspects of the Fund’s products.

The Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation (formerly the Office of Planning and Research) is seeking a senior operation engineer (IT Specialist II) to serve as a specialist on complex IT systems and perform a variety of advanced tasks in connection with the analysis, installation, implementation and support of IT services and systems.
The engineer will “be instrumental in enhancing the overall IT service delivery through process improvements and optimization efforts,” according to the job posting. “Primary tasks include answering customer calls; monitoring and responding to requests received through the IT help desk; and documenting, troubleshooting and tracking service disruptions throughout the enterprise.”
