Last Call: Member Briefing Today to Offer Analysis of State Budget

The 30-minute webinar this morning will provide an overview of California’s $297 billion state budget, highlighting which agencies and projects may offer opportunities for industry to partner with government.

With the $297 billion California state budget for FY 2024-25 having been signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom, those in the tech industry who sell to the state can start assessing where the opportunities lie. To that end, Industry Insider — California is offering members insights into the details.

In a live 30-minute webinar beginning at 11:30 a.m. today, members are invited to tune in and glean these insights from Joe Morris, the chief innovation officer for Industry Insider — California’s parent, e.Republic. Morris is a national keynote speaker on issues, trends and drivers impacting state and local government and education and has a deep background in government technology and the market.

Morris will go through the budget in this fast-paced session, highlighting funding changes from previous years and pointing out where tech vendors may find opportunities to partner with state agencies and departments. He will go over topline numbers and dig more deeply into select parts of the spending plan, which was enacted June 26. The session will be moderated by Dennis Noone, executive editor of Industry Insider.

“A budget the size of California’s can be ponderous to read and analyze,” Noone said. “Joe’s overviews are a perennial draw for the industry, because he knows what vendors want and need to know. If your goal is to work with state government, Joe’s perspectives will save you hours of reading and help set you up for success.”

The webinar is open exclusively to members of Industry Insider — California. Registration and more details are available online.
