The incumbent works in Offender Management Solutions, serving as the technical expert and specialist on the architecture, planning, development and maintenance of the CDCR Kubernetes Platform. The specialist acts as lead on projects involving the design and implementation of the platform, enterprise applications, data and security configurations.
The incumbent will demonstrate leadership and expertise in software, device, database, system and information security engineering and perform tasks requiring innovative problem-solving where guidance is not readily available. The incumbent is expected to be a subject matter expert in the functional technology domains and to take projects from concept to operations using agile methodology.
Desirable qualifications for the role include:
- Advanced Kubernetes certification (certified Kubernetes administrator or higher certification).
- Cloud provider certifications: At least one cloud platform certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Engineer).
- Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Knowledge: Familiarity with SRE practices for improving system reliability.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies including virtualization and cloud.
- Experience managing agile teams of professionals and effectively coaching them to achieve high performance.
