The architect “will be part of an enterprise architecture team in assisting with responses and guidance to support large-scale, statewide suite of applications, systems and infrastructure that will provide a cohesive platform for data management, sharing and efficiencies on an enterprise level for the business and its programs,” the job posting says. “The ITS II will work within the systems engineering domain.” More information is available in the duty statement.

The position has a monthly salary range of $7,700 to $10,318, and the application deadline is Aug. 5.

The supervisor works closely with departmental divisions and external stakeholders to identify and define business needs, document requirements and develop IT solutions “using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products and custom-built applications, using a variety of architectures, and where applicable, provide business services through negotiated agreements with external vendors.” Desirable skills and experience include “agile methodologies, project and product management framework and Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.” The supervisor guides and supports customers in “improving or streamlining operations through the use of IT, ensuring development of appropriate and effective solutions consistent with the department's IT strategies and technology infrastructure.” The position has a monthly salary range of $7,593 to $10,174, and the application deadline is Aug. 12. More information can be found in the job posting and the duty statement.
  • CDSS is seeking to fill nine openings in the IT Specialist I classification, for four department programs. “CDSS is a department that fosters and drives innovative public policy projects that address the social issues plaguing our communities statewide,” the general job posting says. “Our teams do their daily work with a work environment where collaborative and proactive problem-solving is strongly encouraged.” Applicants may fill out one application for multiple positions, which include a network specialist in the Network Section; a desktop support lead in the Regional Office Support Bureau; a server administrator in the Server Section; and a project manager and a hybrid software architect/project manager, both in the Project Oversight and Strategic Technology Branch.

In a LinkedIn post promoting the recruitment, Richard Gillespie, CDSS’ assistant deputy director and chief technology officer, writes: “I would encourage anyone looking to work for a dynamic organization with a great group of dedicated and hard-working people to make a difference in the lives of Californians” to apply.

The IT Specialist I roles have a monthly salary range of $5,562 to $8,999, and the application deadline is Aug. 11.
