The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is holding a virtual hiring event for those interested in working for the department.
DHCS, which works to expand access to affordable, high-quality health-care plans to Californians, expects to hire about 2,000 employees in the next few years, according to an announcement of the event.
The emphasis of this event will be on the following job classifications: Associate Governmental Program Analyst, Staff Services Manager I & II, Research Data Specialist I & II, Health Program Specialist I & II, and Information Technology Specialist I & II.
The virtual event will run from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 21. DHCS managers will host live chat rooms to offer insights about working for the department. Attendees are advised to prepare for the event by opening a CalCareers account and reviewing DHCS’ open positions. Registration and more information are available online.
DHCS will spend the first hour outlining its mission, vision and values; its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion; and its hybrid work environment. During the second hour, DHCS managers will host chat room sessions for prospective candidates to learn about the job classifications and how their experience might fit the department’s needs. A 30-minute question-and-answer session will follow.
For those conducting a confidential job search, attendees need not provide their names and can decide whether they are visible on camera. Either way, they can ask questions verbally or use the chat function.
