Three linchpin state entities will host an IT hiring event Thursday morning.
The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration, the Department of Technology and the Office of Data and Innovation are jointly hosting a virtual open house to showcase IT and innovation jobs available throughout the state.
The online event, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., is aimed at educating people who may have an interest in working in technology for the state. Topics will include state benefits, “day-to-day insight on IT careers,” the state hiring process and an overview of the state’s many departments, according to the event flyer. Attendees will be able to learn about “a day in the life” of staffers in Information Specialist I, II and III, Information Technology Associate, and Information Technology Manager classifications as well as in Information Technology career executive assignments (CEAs), with focuses on work-life balance and the general stability of state work.
In online breakout rooms, attendees will also be able to meet with representatives of more than 20 state entities and their team members to learn about the culture and mission of their departments. California now has well over 100 jobs open in IT statewide, according to a search using the words “information technology” on CalCareers, the state jobs website. Register for the event here.
