With a Saturday deadline looming for Gov. Gavin Newsom to propose his Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget, state agencies will soon document their major IT project priorities.
These come in the form of budget change proposals (BCPs), which are funding requests for all types of projects, including IT. H.D. Palmer, deputy director of external affairs for the Department of Finance, told Industry Insider — California via email that they will be published on Friday.
Last year, agencies requested more than $884 million for IT projects through BCPs. Industry Insider — California will again compile IT-related BCPs into a searchable, sortable format to complement other budget coverage.
