Vacaville

Oakland’s deputy CIO, Gurinder Bains, has taken the top technologist role with the city of Vacaville. Bains has a lengthy public service resume and nearly 30 years in IT.

Early successes with the city’s Real-Time Information Center and drone program have officials evaluating where the program and technology that supports it could evolve in the new year.

Vacaville chose three vendors to provide software intended to increase transparency and streamline engagement. The decision follows recommendations in an audit.
