Former Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) CISO Nancy Rainosek has joined Signature Advisory Partners LLC as a senior consultant.

Rainosek, who joined DIR in 2013 as a program manager, retired in December after serving as state CISO for nearly eight years. In total, her career in state government spans more than four decades.

Rainosek is credited with overseeing the implementation of various security protocols and initiatives, including the establishment of the state’s Regional Security Operations Centers. In 2020, Government Technology* named her to its annual Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers list.

“We are thrilled to welcome Nancy Rainosek to Signature Advisory Partners LLC as a senior consultant,” Signature wrote in a LinkedIn post. “Nancy brings tremendous experience in technology and cybersecurity, with a distinguished career in state government and the private sector. As Texas’ Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) since 2017, she played a pivotal role in shaping the state’s cybersecurity strategy.”

Signature’s CEO, Hershel Becker, also served DIR as chief procurement officer before joining the private sector in 2023.
