As Alameda County preps for CIO Tim Dupuis to retire, Alameda County has found an interim replacement. According to SFGATE, the county Board of Supervisors has chosen CTO Ram Gurumurthy for the role. Gurumurthy has served as CTO since 2023 and has worked for Alameda County since 2013. Prior to that he held private-sector roles at firms such as Robert Half International and Franklin Templeton Investments.
Dupuis has been the county’s CIO since 2012, using his time in office to expand from 1,700 endpoints to almost 8,000. His retirement marks the end of a 24-year career with Alameda County.
"Tim Dupuis has done an amazing job, laid the soil foundation, accomplished so much, and he's leaving a well-organized team so I'm looking forward to giving my all and get[ting] to work," Gurumurthy told SFGATE.
The county has also chosen Cynthia Cornejo to take over Dupuis’ other role as registrar of voters.
