Duties of the role, according to the job posting, include:
  • Personnel-related duties such as staff recruitment, performance, evaluation, training, and corrective actions.
  • Lead the coordination for implementing CDE’s information security program, including the selection and operation of security-related products and services.
  • Ensure the Information Security and Privacy Office (ISPO) is proactively monitoring information security-related products and services for signs of potential suspicious or malicious activity at CDE headquarters and remote sites and take appropriate remediation steps if necessary.
  • Ensure CDE’s information security program follows state security and privacy standards, policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the primary CDE contact for security and privacy program audits and assessments conducted by state oversight agencies and third-party contractors. Review findings and develop corrective action plans to address any non-compliance issues documented in the reports.

The California State Lottery is recruiting for a network engineering manager (IT Manager I) to plan, organize and direct the activities of staff in supporting the Lottery’s networking infrastructure, which includes its Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN).

  • Formulate future long-range vision and objectives
  • Align, review implementation, and ensure conformance of the unit with organizational policies and objectives

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is seeking a chief (IT Manager I) for IT business management to be responsible for management and oversight of Caltrans’ Contract and Performance Management, which encompasses IT acquisitions, certifications and contracts; IT Technology Business and Financial Management Operations; and IT Administrative Operations.

“The incumbent is primarily responsible for developing, planning, organizing, and managing the functions of the subordinate groups,” the job posting says. “The incumbent must be able to gain and maintain the confidence and cooperation of others and act with flexibility and tact to achieve the goals of the division, department and chief information officer.” The incumbent also works as a liaison in the processing of procurement packages and collaborates on the adoption of common procurement practices and shared services.
