Among the many solicitations posted this week on the state’s Cal eProcure portal, a variety of department requests for software, equipment and specialized maintenance stood out.
Here are some of the more interesting solicitations seeking a vendor match right now.
Photogrammetry Software for Caltrans
The California Department of Transportation’s Office of Photogrammetry and Preliminary Investigations issued a request for quotation (RFQ) last week for specific photogrammetry software that integrates with its existing Autodesk and Bentley CADD solutions. The software being purchased is Summit Evolution, produced by Alaska-based DAT/EM Systems International, and has the ability to view “LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) point cloud together with photogrammetry data, which is an improvement over current capabilities,” according the RFQ.

Radio Equipment and Accessories for CAL FIRE
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) has issued RFQ-ITS 24-1749, which seeks quotes from certified BK Technologies Inc. resellers of radios and accessories — specifically the KNG-M150LPR radios. According to the RFQ, CAL FIRE is seeking quotes for 230 radios; 230 factory-installed P25 9600 Baud trunking; 375 remote control heads; 250 17-inch cable assemblies; 125 25-inch cable assemblies; 375 handheld programming microphones; and 250 mounting kit adapters.

Project Management Software for DHCS
An invitation for bid (IFB) published by the California Department of General Services on behalf of the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) seeks enterprise project management and coordination software produced by Atlassian Inc. — specifically, the Jira and Confluence products. The bid package outlines the need for thousands of cloud-based user accounts and additional integrated tools for the solutions.

Employee Scheduling Software for State Parks
The California Department of State Parks has issued an invitation for bids (IFB) for new employee scheduling software application services for the Gold Fields District Program at the Folsom Sector. The solution must provide “secure web and mobile access to allow approximately 100 users to create individual accounts, to check schedules, pick up shifts and request leave time,” according to the solicitation.

SCADA Maintenance and Service for CDCR
The Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) has issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) for calibration, quarterly maintenance and repair services of the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system for the water treatment plant at the California Institution for Men.
