Los Angeles County has hired an outside consulting firm, the McChrystal Group, to review how evacuation alerts were handled during the wildfires.
Los Angeles County supervisors have also called for an independent review of the emergency notification system.
“What I learned most from this event is that Mother Nature continues to outpace us. Just when you think you've got it figured out, Mother Nature kicks you in the face and says, ‘No, you don’t.’”
