The Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) is hiring a Shared Technology Services (STS) cybersecurity analyst.
According to the job posting, the STS analyst will work within the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer to support the STS program, which allows Texas government organizations to secure managed IT services through the state.
Responsibilities include performing senior-level cybersecurity analysis work, providing security best practices guidance to vendors, developing security training for stakeholders, reviewing STS program documents and more.
The listing calls for an applicant with a bachelor’s degree with major coursework in IT security, computer information systems, computer science, cybersecurity, management information systems or a related field, with the option to substitute relevant work experience on a year-per-year basis.
Applicants must have a minimum of three years of experience in the IT industry. Additional preferences include experience in researching IT issues, creating/editing documentation, analyzing policies and security operation center operations.
The posting closes Feb. 17, open to all applicants, eligible for hybrid work and has a monthly salary range of $8,000 to $8,667, depending on qualifications.
