After three years of serving as Florida’s chief information security officer, Jeremy Rodgers has accepted a new position in the private sector.
Within the city’s proposed $191.5 million budget, approximately $6.2 million has been set aside for its Department of Information Technology.
Within the county’s proposed $6.9 billion budget, approximately $75 million has been earmarked for its Information Systems and Services Division.
The department, which has an estimated IT budget of $149 million, oversees 67 county health departments and is accountable to the state Legislature, the governor’s office and all residents and visitors.
The candidate will design systems; develop standards; plan for Unix, Linux and storage; manage budgets; oversee contracts; and set usage procedures.
The department is requesting information from vendors on technological innovations designed to increase the safety, security and efficiency of correctional institutions.
